This is a page for contributors to the Cuna Street News.
Below are samples of shortcodes you can use to enhance and customize your posts.
How to create a button that acts as a link.
Create a new post or open an existing post. Edit from the Visual side of the display window, not the Text side. Click just to the right of the blue water droplet. That will open the Short Codes editor. Now make sure to put the cursor where you want to place the button.
- Select color of the button. The coding will be automatically pasted into the window.
- Enter URL or link for button.
- You can change the title of the button to whatever you want. This is not visible on the website.
- Write in the words that you want to appear on the button. This could simply be the name of the link.
How to create a dropcap
Put the cursor where you want to place the dropcap – but do not use the dropcap as the very first letter of your story. More on that below. Go to the shortcodes editor (the blue water droplet). Click on dropcap, then select color. The coding will be automatically pasted into the window. Place the letter to be used in the dropcap in between the brackets, as shown in the photo below.
Important: Do not use a dropcap for the very first letter of your post because it won’t appear on thumbnails of your article, as shown in the image below. Use dropcap anywhere below the first paragraph.
