Watchdog journalism workshop held in Jacksonville

Below are photos from a workshop for journalists that I attended Nov. 8 and 9. Investigative Reporters & Editors, or IRE, ran the Watchdog Workshop, which covered such subjects as effective use of the Internet, open records, the art of the interview and cultivating sources.
The Nov. 9 session was about computer-assisted reporting. It was a hands-on session aimed at showing how to use data and Excel to produce stories. Both days were fantastic. IRE training director Megan Luther and all the other trainers were great. See additional photos here.
